Located in the Rufina area of Tuscany, the Il Bastardo winery has been producing mouth-filling rich and robust red wines from the Sangiovese grape for three generations. The Sieve River Valley, located 20 km outside of Florence, is considered the best area for Sangiovese grapes. The grapes are crushed on the skins in stainless steel for 10 days, which creates a brightly colored fruit forward wine.
Dark ruby red, aromatic nose, with blackberry and cherry aromas and flavors. On the palate, it is medium bodied with good tannins and overall Chianti-like fruit finish.
